Good morning Doss Family -
Today is the Doss HOWL! It is from 2-5pm. The HOWL is an incredible Doss tradition that brings the community together and creates lasting memories for all. I hope to see you all there!
Halloween is this Thursday, and we do not allow students to wear costumes to school. The only exceptions are PreK and Kinder, because they have a Book Character Parade and any other teacher requested and approved costumes. Please refer to your student’s teacher for guidance and more information.
No school this Friday, Nov. 1. This school holiday is to honor Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights. Diwali is a Hindu holiday widely celebrated in India, in South Asia, and across the Hindu Diaspora. The word ‘Deepavali’ derives from Sanskrit and means “row of lights.” Festivities include the illumination of lights, candles, firecrackers, and diya (clay lamps) to symbolize the victory of good over evil, inner light over spiritual darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.
