Principal Newsletter Week: 01/06

Happy New Year, Doss Families!

I hope this message finds you well and that you’ve all had a joyful and restful holiday season. As we welcome the new year, I want to extend my heartfelt wishes for happiness, health, and success to each of you.

I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing our wonderful students, dedicated teachers, and hardworking staff back at school, ready to embark on another exciting chapter of learning and growth together. Let’s make 2025 one filled with achievements, community, and positivity!

Wednesday, January 8th at 9:45am we are hosting a Dual Language Mandarin information session for incoming kindergarten families for the 24-25 school year.  If you know of any incoming kindergarten families that might be interested, please invite them.

Congratulations Doss Counselors on receiving a CREST Leadership Award for counseling excellence! Their leadership and advocacy for serving our students, campus, district, and community is commendable. It was a joy for the TSCA board to learn more about their comprehensive school counseling program.

PERSEVERANCE is our SEL word of the month. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself to work through challenges and obstacles.”

Reminders - We are encouraging all to Enroll Austin - register your child for the 25-26 school year! It seems early to register for the next school year, but accurate enrollment numbers assist AISD with staffing allocations and budgeting. If you are interested in applying to the Doss Pre-K4 for 25-26SY, the application window opens April 1, 2025.

Have a wonderful week -

Principal Sheridan
