Good morning Doss Families -
What perfect timing for the cooler weather this weekend as we step into October! With the new month comes a new Doss Character Strong focus word: RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility means taking action and understanding the impact of our choices. It can look different in many situations, but at its core, it’s about making choices that lead to positive outcomes - for ourselves, our friends, and our community.
Tomorrow, Monday, September 29th is the Anderson Homecoming Parade. The parade begins at 6:15pm and the theme this year is Viva Las Victory. Come out and support the Anderson Vertical Team, enjoy the homecoming parade, and see if you can spot the Doss administrators and teacher float. Ice Cream 2 You will be onsite before, during, and after the parade. Parade route linked HERE.
Due to the release of the Austin ISD boundary and consolidation plan this Friday evening, October 3rd, I am rescheduling our October Parent-Principal Coffee to Tuesday, October 7th at 8:00am. This adjustment will allow time for us to come together, discuss the plan, and provide space for your questions. I will do my best to share information and provide answers.
Monday, October 20th, is Parent-Teacher Conference Day. There will be no school for students on this day. Parent-teacher conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, discuss progress, and address any questions or concerns you may have. We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to sign up and participate. Your involvement makes a big difference in your child’s education, and we look forward to meaningful and productive conversations together.
Have a wonderful week -
Principal Sheridan
