Good morning Doss Families - 

It is always incredible to see what a community can accomplish when everyone pulls together! Charlie Rapier and the Doss Owls, past and present, clearly put in a ton of heart and hard work to get the campus looking fantastic. There’s nothing quite like walking up to a freshly manicured school with a blooming wildflower garden to set a welcoming, proud tone for the whole neighborhood. Kudos to everyone who rolled up their sleeves, grabbed a rake, and made it happen!

Our staff returned to campus last Thursday, kicking off the week with a delicious bagel breakfast courtesy of our incredible PTA! On Friday, we kept the energy going with a fun team-building outing at Highland Lanes. With such a large staff, we truly treasure these moments to connect with colleagues outside our daily routines. Now, the momentum continues as we dive into professional development, team meetings, and lesson planning to prepare for an amazing school year ahead! 

Doss Back to School Events:

• Thursday, August 13th: Class lists posted at 5:00pm on front windows and shared via PTA site

• Friday, August 14th: Meet the Teacher 11:00am - 12:30pm 

  • Share how your student will get home from school

  • Drop off your school supplies

  • Complete parent/caregiver information sheet 

  • Sign up for volunteer opportunities to support

  • Pick up your pre-ordered spirit gear in the cafeteria 

• Tuesday, August 18th: First Day of School! 

AISD recommends families whose students are eligible for General Education transportation to check their bus information by checking the district’s “Bus Stop Finder”. Families whose students have special needs will receive their information from their bus teams. Please keep in mind that routes and stops may change periodically. AISD’s transportation team offers families the “WheresTheBus” app, which provides timely information about the location of their student’s assigned bus only, including when it will arrive at their stop. The free app is available on any device with internet access (smartphone, tablet, personal computer, iPad)—and takes less than five minutes to install. ¡Buenos días familias de Doss!

¡Siempre es increíble ver lo que una comunidad puede lograr cuando todos colaboran juntos! Charlie Rapier y los Búhos de Doss, del pasado y del presente, claramente le pusieron mucho corazón y arduo trabajo para hacer que el plantel se vea fantástico. No hay nada como llegar a una escuela recién arreglada y con un jardín de flores silvestres floreciendo para dar un tono de bienvenida y orgullo a todo el vecindario. ¡Felicitaciones a todos los que se arremangaron las mangas, tomaron un rastrillo y lo hicieron posible!

Nuestro personal regresó al plantel el jueves pasado, ¡iniciando la semana con un delicioso desayuno de bagels cortesía de nuestra increíble PTA! El viernes, mantuvimos el entusiasmo con una divertida excursión de integración en Highland Lanes. Con un personal tan grande, realmente valoramos estos momentos para conectar con nuestros colegas fuera de nuestras rutinas diarias. ¡Ahora, el impulso continúa mientras nos adentramos en el desarrollo profesional, las reuniones de equipo y la planificación de clases para prepararnos para un increíble año escolar por delante!

Eventos de Regreso a Clases de Doss:

• Jueves 13 de agosto: Las listas de clases se publicarán a las 5:00 p.m. en las ventanas frontales y se compartirán a través del sitio de la PTA.

• Viernes 14 de agosto: Conozca al Maestro de 11:00 a.m. a 12:30 p.m.

  • Comparta cómo regresará su estudiante a casa después de la escuela

  • Entregue sus útiles escolares

  • Complete la hoja de información para padres/cuidadores

  • Inscríbase en oportunidades de voluntariado para apoyar

  • Recoja su mercancía escolar (spirit gear) preordenada en la cafetería

• Martes 18 de agosto: ¡Primer día de clases!

AISD recomienda a las familias cuyos estudiantes sean elegibles para el transporte de Educación General que consulten la información de su autobús a través de la herramienta del distrito “Bus Stop Finder” (Buscador de Paradas de Autobús). Las familias cuyos estudiantes tengan necesidades especiales recibirán su información por parte de sus equipos de autobús. Por favor, tome en cuenta que las rutas y paradas pueden cambiar periódicamente. El equipo de transporte de AISD ofrece a las familias la aplicación “WheresTheBus”, la cual brinda información oportuna únicamente sobre la ubicación del autobús asignado a su estudiante, incluyendo cuándo llegará a su parada. La aplicación gratuita está disponible en cualquier dispositivo con acceso a internet (teléfono inteligente, tableta, computadora personal, iPad) y toma menos de cinco minutos instalarla.
