Hope you all enjoyed spring break! May we all return refreshed, energized, and ready to achieve our personal best.
This week is Austin ISD Pride Week (March 18-23). You may click the link to see the Doss Pride Week Letter. Daily spirit themes are Tuesday is Crazy Sock Day, Wednesday is Favorite Team Gear, and Friday is Rainbow Colors by grade level or Doss spirit shirt.
In April we will begin the class making process for the 24-25 school year. I will be accepting parent input until March 28th at 4pm. It is not a requirement to complete this form. Please use this 24-25 Parent Input Form to submit your feedback.
Safety during dismissal in the 4th/5th grade carline on Northledge is a HUGE concern. Please review these Do’s and Don’ts.
DOs:
- Wait patiently in ONE line against the school side curb on Northledge.
- Respect Mr. Lacayo and Ms. Goldstein as the VOLUNTEER to assist with traffic flow during dismissal. We are very thankful for their willingness to risk their safety for our students.
DON’Ts:
- Don’t park against the school side curb on Northledge (that is the carline).
- Don’t get out of your car in the carline.
- Don’t park in the middle of Northledge, which is a thruway area. (we’ve seen cars parked two and three across the street)
- Don’t lose your cool!
The Austin ISD Special Education Department is hosting multiple family engagement and learning opportunities. Vela is a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering parents to become their child's greatest advocates. Through an AISD & VELA partnership, we are offering a 3-part interactive virtual series for parents to gain knowledge, identify strategies, and find resources to support their child's special education services and individual education program (IEP). This opportunity is available in English or in Spanish! Parents, staff, and community members can REGISTER to participate in one, two, or all three sessions.
Family Empower Hour: Child Find - This session will review district Child Find responsibilities - including referral, timelines, and process from evaluation to the determination of special education eligibility and services. April 16th: 12-1pm or 6-7pm - VIRTUAL online LINK
